Not to be a negative nellie, but looking at this group's Instagram, they have the same or lower numbers of likes and comments on their posts than Jackie does. Is this a fringe group that "peaked" long ago and is really struggling now as they lose their lead singer? Sounds like it to me from what I'm seeing. Still a good opportunity for Jackie to sing her original music in front of a crowd...I do wonder how large those crowds will be though. If this band is about washed up and getting ready to split up or dissolve, they may not have very big audiences. To be honest, unless I'm reading this wrong, which is certainly possible, this may largely end up being a nothing burger for Jackie in terms of accelerating her career trajectory. If the audience sizes are bigger than I am thinking they will be, then I will be glad to be wrong on this. lol

I am surprised Jackie hasn't mentioned it yet. Usually an opening act will mention it on their site the same time it is released. Jackie doesn't show much enthusiasm about it. She should have said I will have a big announcement coming a week ago.

She doesn't announce it because she doesn't want a bunch of old farts yelling "brava!" and "good job Jackie!" at her in the front every two minutes, while young people who are trying to see stand behind them shaking their heads with disgust going "what the hell are these boomers doing here."

She may not want to advertise on her own social media that she is opening for someone else, or even if she does, her fans wont be paying to go to someone elses concert just because she's opening for it...for the most part. It will be interesting to see how she announces this on her social media...if she does. And if she does, mabye it will just be posted as any other "extra" gig she gets. After all, these aren't Jackie concerts.

Yeah...this isn't going to be big enough to do squat for her career. But I am proud of Jackie for giving it a go anyway. Mabye she can test out a brand new original song or two even.

I'm not surprised at all. First of all, the purpose is to get new fans and it doesn't help much to have the same people show up. Second, as has been alluded to earlier, they would not exactly fit in or be comfortable with the rest of the crowd. I don't think anyone would bother them - I just think there might be a bit of a culture shock. Worse yet, can you imagine someone yelling out "Sing Nessun Dorma!!" Oh, the secondhand embarrassment!

Generally speaking, Instagram is not a place for groups. It is pretty much an individual's medium showing selfies, photoshoots, etc. I wouldn't be surprised if the lead singer's IG page has more likes than the group's. The group's YouTube page is a better gauge of their current state. They were never a huge group but they had a following and were respected. Their singles have generally reached streaming totals from the hundreds of thousands to the tens of millions within a year.

She'll get to sing some of her songs to a new audience, she'll get to travel and hang out with musicians and have some fun, so it's all good. And it might lead to other offers as an opening act. Gotta start somewhere.

But it would certainly be the only reason Jackie fans that are not also Taylor Swift fans would show up. Maybe that would be 100 out of 10,000 or more total. So what. The other 9,900 would still have heard something more than what they came for, and if just a few hundred of them liked it, it would have been worthwhile.

I am a Jackie fan and no I don’t think 🤔 that fans showed up for her when Taylor Swift was the headliner!

Jackie could open for Taylor Swift and Jackie's fans would say it is because of Jackie that everyone is there. There are some OTTs that would absolutely say that.

I would love ❤️ to see Jackie live in concert 🎵 once in my lifetime! I have been a fan since 2012! It was enjoyable catching up and watching old Jackie videos, for me it was a historical ride in my favorite 😍 singers career from how it started to what It has become! Her carrier isn’t what it once was but she is still my favorite female singer and nothing will change that!
