I don't think Mike is a nut case. Misguided, yes. In over his head, absolutely. However, I think he honestly wanted to help Jackie. He just wasn't that good at it. No he wanted to help himself. Why couldn't he have just kept his Job instead of having Jackie fund the household.
I can't think of anyone else that did that. May there is a few somewhere but they probably have a book written about it. Most of the celebrities that started at a young age their parent spent a lot of money getting them to where they are now. While we seen Jackie's official site and social media in dis repair. Mike would brag about laying at the pool all day.
Back in the day, a lot of young actors, once they got older and weren't working any more, ended up broke because their parents went through their money. At least now there's a law that says the parents can only blow a certain % of their money, although it's not nearly enough. It's sad. |

There very likely wasn't an adult, extended family member who had the time or the inclination to go touring around the world with Jackie, I hate to tell you. I'm sure they all had their own lives. lol Beyond that, most 10, 11 year olds would want mom or dad with them. And most moms and dads would want one of them to be with their kid. Dangerous world out there, plus, they were still raising Jackie and she was on the road A LOT. I'm the last one to support msims craziness, but your position on this is entirely unrealistic. |

What I don't understand is the following: Jackie and Lisa have long claimed that Jackie is very creative and has been writing her own songs from an early age. Jackie even once mistakenly said that one of her own songs would be released with one of her albums. She repeated this even after Lisa corrected her. So she must have accumulated a large inventory of unreleased songs over the years. It has been claimed that Jackie has been writing and recording since the end of her COT tour two years ago in Oct 2022. She finished Solla by Sep 2023. So she must have added to her inventory of songs over the last year. So why would she want to spend time recording a cover when she could record one of her own unreleased songs? Or if she doesn't have any songs in her inventory, shouldn't she be working on new songs? |

No what is unrealistic is having Daddy follow you around from age 10 to 24 and think that is somehow benefiting Jackie.
A few times is one thing but to quit your job and depend on your 10 year old child is another. Everyone else seems to be able to find someone to be temporary guarding. Family members, Family Friends, Managers, Agents her Grandparents may have even enjoyed being Jackie's guardian for awhile.

We are talking about the peak of her career, when she was a young child, 10 to 13/14 for sure. She toured the U.S. and the world...she did numerous interviews and other tv appearances as well. That's not a scenario where grandma or Uncle Joe can fill in from time to time. She needed a reliable parent to be ready to go with her on her hectic schedule and watch out after her/raise her on the road. That's just not reasonably debatable. The debatable part is, should they have let her go full time entertainer as she did, or should they have kept it part time in her younger years, thereby allowing dad to hold a job. The risk to doing that would have been missing out on a lot of money/opportunities during the few years of her career peak. Your theory that they should have found a relative to dump Jackie on for her f/t professional touring, which is unrealistic, or somehow manage a complex schedule of Grandma taking her to China one week, Uncle Fred taking her to the west coast for the next weeks concerts, and then Aunt Betty taking over for the Sunshine State tour is absurd. They wouldn't have wanted to do it, managing that would be impossible, and it's just silly. She was a little kid traveling the U.S. and beyond A LOT...she needed the safety and security and parenting consistency of a parent with her while on the road. It was the only logistically realistic way to do it, and it was the right thing to do from a parenting perspective. I agree that it was unhealthy for a 10, 11, 12 year old to be supporting the whole family. Too much pressure on Jackie. That's why they probably should have let her enter her career more slowly after AGT, just doing concerts on weekends, holidays, etc., until she got older. Why? Because Dad has to work and mom is running the household and raising the kids and cooking dinner, etc. That way, Jackie could have had a more normal child's life much of the time, then on many weekends she could have done concerts/interviews/etc. That would have been healthier for her, even though it would have slowed her high peak career years. Now doing it p/t, mabye a trusted relative could take her occassionally. But, it would still be the parents responsibility primarily. |

Apparently, Lisa's bout with Lyme's disease prevented her from continuing to serve in that role, and that's when Mike took over the duties. From what I could tell, neither Mike nor Lisa were working outside of managing Jackie during those early years. I often wondered why Mike didn't have a job when Lisa was the primary manager. At that time, Jackie didn't really need both parents involved. Once the family moved into the mansion, one had to wonder whether the parents were milking the golden child and avoiding getting real jobs to support the family. |

Jackie has more mental problems and physical problems than anyone. No friends, they kept her boxed up she couldn't get along with school mates. Mom runs off with a transvestite, Daddy with her hair stylist, her older brother becomes her older sister. This is not your "Father know best" 1950's family they tried to portray and Jackie's fans would have everyone believe. Jackie doesn't trust anyone. What happened Jackie was with her family more than anyone her age would be yet they didn't see anything going wrong. Was it they were willing to just look the other way as long as the money was coming in as it sure looks like it. |
