Maybe I didn't have two first paragraphs. My mind was going faster than I could type. The big bang theory doesn't say that the universe came from nothing. The Creationists do. They say there was nothing and then God created the universe. At its simplest, the big bang theory says the universe as we know it started with a small singularity, then inflated over the next 13.8 billion years to the cosmos that we know today.

On what do you base your assertion that the universe is 13.8 billion years old? That is part of the Big Bang Theory which is supported by a great deal of well documented physical evidence and for which many Nobel prizes have been awarded. On what do you base your assertion of a Big Bang which all matter and energy simply appeared out of nothing? The Big Bang Theory does NOT assert that all matter and energy appeared out of nothing. There is no generally accepted theory about what the universe looked like during the periods (1) before the Big Bang, (2) at the Big Bang and (3) for the first 10**−36 seconds after the Big Bang. The generally accepted theory is that there was rapid expansion after period (3). I have no faith at all. I simply choose to believe the most likely explanation suggested by the physical evidence. Of course, there is never any assurance that the most likely explanation is the correct explanation. |

This guy looks as i did at one time and looks a lot of my son , i am a deist believing God plays no part in a life of humans and no after-life of a heaven or hell . i am in the middle of this belief . Tons of great minds were and are deists as the list is great and today is increasing in large numbers , it can be pure logic in nature .
