The bad guys will always find a way with or without guns. As I recall, not a single gun was used in the 9-11 attacks. Did Timothy McVeigh have a gun? - if so, he didn't use it, the truckload of fertilizer did more damage than the nut in Vegas. We are lucky the Vegas nut wasn't buying up fertilizer instead of guns.

.... Third, nowhere does this say that the reason it was created was to protect against a tyrannical government! Actually, as regards your third point, I do believe it is well implied [if not said outright] by the 2nd amendment.

That's right. Guns don't kill people, people do. * Hammers don't kill people, people do. Frying pans don't kill people, people do. Ammonium Nitrate doesn't kill people, people do. * But guns do make it much too easy, though. The problem is within the hearts of man [or woman]. That said, though, I will give up my right to guns/hammers/frying pans and Ammonium Nitrate once no one else has access to these things. That is the sticking point for me.

I believe people have the right to possess guns. But they should be regulated as follows:
1. Convicted felons cannot possess guns. 2. Automatic weapons (and related devices) are banned. 3. Silencers are banned. 4. Gun ownership, possession and transfers must be registered. 5. Unregistered gun possession is illegal. 6. All guns must have serial numbers and tampering with them is illegal. 7. Ammunition purchases are recorded. 8. Possession of guns and ammo beyond a certain number is legal but subject to scrutiny.
Edit add: None of the above would be onerous for a law abiding citizen.

...no one needs an automatic to go hunting after the third round its all over the place and you are just as liable to hit your hunting buddy as you are any game animal from the recoil.... There is simply nothing like experience.

Using the recent tragedy in Las Vegas as an example........imagine the 20,000 people all carrying a firearm at the event and the lead entertainer cries out "Form up militia and defend yourself from the hostile on floor 30". The next day the munition salesmen would be filling their wallets from doling out replacement ammo crying "how wonderful the 2nd Amendment is".

I am just happy that the people in the crowd that had guns had the common sense not to try to fire back at a target that was far out of range of a handgun. People in the motel would probably have been hit too.

That is, a citizen brings out their weapon to respond to some incident, probably shoots the wrong person, and in turn, is shot by another citizen who's just trying to help also. As of yet there isn't a term for that, but I'd call it "Whiteknighticide".

Don't think I have ever seen this after a mass shooting: "Zappos offers to help cover funeral costs of every Las Vegas victim" money.cnn.com/2017/10/13/news/zappos-vegas-funeral-costs/index.htmlen.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zapposwww.zappos.com/www.zappos.com/contact-usThis is the email I sent to Zappos thanking them for their humanitarian gesture. "Even though I live in a different state, I feel compelled to let you know how your humanitarian offer of paying for the victims funeral expenses makes me feel!! Never, after such a heinous act, have I seen such an offer of good will come from a company! Period! You are to be commended for helping to ease the suffering and pain that the families must be enduring. Thank you! "

Protect the 2nd Amendment , some folks never get off their safe streets except to go to local place , they know nothing of the real streets in America .
