Another question you might ask yourself:
If Jackie were to express her opinion about the issue, how would her opinion (and the fact that she expressed it) affect your view of her?

Another question:
If you believe abortion should be illegal, do you also believe birth control should be illegal? How about vasectomies?

I don't understand why celebrities feel the need to shove their views down our throats. They are simply expressing their opinions. 3 reasons for doing that: 1. All human being feel the need to express their opinions. For example, that is why we are all here at this forum. 2. They hope to influence their fans. Even if they influence a small number of fans, that is better than nothing. 3. They hope to gain fans. They will gain the fans that agree with them lose the fans that disagree with them. If the gain is greater than the loss then it is a net positive. Grace's and Billie's fans tend to be younger and more liberal so I suspect a pro-choice position will tend to be net positive for them. It suspect it would be the reverse for Jackie.

Jackie 4 hrs ago 3416 likes http://instagr.am/p/B1rj_LbBnOX Kenzie 3 hrs ago 353,744 likes http://instagr.am/p/B1rrcrMh-ZO Maddie 2 hrs ago 352,429 likes http://instagr.am/p/B1rzHgEBvpn Jackie lost some more instagram followers she is now at the same level she was last week when she went from 72k to71.9 Kenzie's loss of 500 followers has now been made back by about 44,400 new followers that is way more than half of the number of Instagram followers Jackie has. Jackie's teem doesn't have a clue about promoting her. All the kids are going back to school now so wear clothing they would be interest in. Doubt you will see many dressed like Jackie going to school looks more like the red light district.
The Z-girls shoots each others photos. You never see any cooperation between Jackie and her siblings unless they want something from her like Juliet wanting Jackie to support her. Why couldn't Juliet, Zach or Rachel shoot Jackie's videos and social media pictures.

This is where it is not a bad idea for young celebrities parents to have their own site and put their views out on polarizing subjects. Most people will just think someone that is 15 is more than likely just following their parents views any ways. Hard to be lectured to by a kid who can't even vote yet. Sadly I'm not surprised by her position on abortion which I happen not to agree with. I am sort of divided on the issue. For me the gestation period is the key factor - there ought to be a point where you say "Sorry, you had your chance ..." unless there is some other factor involved such as danger to the mother's life. As for Grace, given the political climate, I would be surprised if a 15 year old girl from New York City (which she is) would have any other view on the matter than the one she voiced. It's the default position in NYC just as it may be the opposite in parts of the Bible Belt. So long as it doesn't start showing up in her songs, I don't really care.

I agree it is the default position and that is probably what most people will think. But I think she would still be better off staying away from that issue until she is a little older. It just puts her more in that category of celebrities that think because they are celebrities they know more than the rest of us.

I originally posted the thing with Grace and abortion to give another example of the situation with political backlash affecting one's career in response to a post on Jackie and the transgender issue. I think that posts that restrict it to that topic, the post should remain but once we start getting into our own personal views which some (myself included) have done, they belong in the political thread.

It just puts her more in that category of celebrities that think because they are celebrities they know more than the rest of us. She is one of those people who gets stranger the more you know about her. Not scary strange like Billie Eilish but more eccentric strange. Things that other other young female stars splash all over their instagram (bikini pics, boyfriends, etc.) rarely if ever appear while her music, songwriting, fashion style, and feminist views are front and center. A fan jokingly commented that, until the last few weeks, you could have started a conspiracy theory that she didn't have a navel since no one ever saw it. Her parents actually have more pics of her in a swimsuit on their social media than she does. I don't know if that is modesty, a need for personal privacy, or a marketing strategy to make herself look more mature. If the latter, it is working since she is treated as having more gravitas than most other teen stars. Only Billie (through her own brand of strangeness) and Maddie (through her dance skills and association with the performance artist/pop star known as Sia) are allotted similar respect among her teen peers.
Grace (Summer 2016) https://www.instagram.com/p/BjLkLVZB85b Grace (Summer 2019) https://www.instagram.com/p/Bx3Oa_TjUlx Adolescence sure has some funny after-effects.

Those nose rings seem to be only clip-ons. That pic is not representative of the way she looks - most of her pics depict her looking conventional. she is treated as having more gravitas than most other teen stars. Only Billie (through her own brand of strangeness) and Maddie (through her dance skills and association with the performance artist/pop star known as Sia) are allotted similar respect among her teen peers. I think that is because she has young (preteen, teen) and older fans whereas most teen stars have mostly only young fans. Her artistry is more mature and appeals to young people and also to a more mature crowd.

But it was her prom getup - not a Halloween costume. I have no expertise on rings of either the ear or nose variety to make a judgment so I will defer to yours. She does, however, have a permanent tattoo - a bit unusual for a 15 year old - of an elephant on her arm. Grace and her father got matching tattoos to commemorate their trip to Kenya to bring hearing aids to deaf children in Africa.
