You are way overdue for a hearing checkup. I'm being totally serious. That was a flat out awful singing compared to how she sang 8 years ago. be sustainable Possibly, however, I understood the way she sang 8 years ago, the "hooded tone", was due to some unusual placement of her vocal folds and would not be sustainable for a lifetime.. Someone, who remembers what I'm talking about and is more musical than I, would be able to explain it better. Anyhow, my point was that I thought Jackie was was beginning to sound like a real, first class saloon singer. Now some may think that's a comedown, but I like them. THE END She still uses the hooded voice when she sings CC music but not with some of the newer pop songs since she's learned to belt now. But her lower register needs a lot of work, it's pretty average compared to her high, soprano notes.

Do you think she sounds better than she did on Debut? She did make some arm movements to express emotion. I found them jerky and a bit distracting. From what I could hear (remember I wasn't looking at the vid) she has really been developing her lower register and I like it. The reason I didn't watch was, like you, I find her gestures on stage still awkward and distracting. But she's trying . Jackie quoted someone ( I assume it was Will N.) as saying, "You can't just stand there". She went from one extreme to another. She did need to add more gesturing but now it's too distracting because she overdoes it, she needs to tone it down. I was shocked when she added all of those distracting gestures while singing O Holy Night.

I have seen Jackie live 4 times when she was 14, 15, 16, and 17. She still had her beautiful classical voice then and she sounded so much better than she does now. Do you mean that you thought her voice was better in the past or that she was singing songs that better suited her voice?

I'm being totally serious. That was a flat out awful singing compared to how she sang 8 years ago. Do you mean that she sang badly in that particular video clip or that her singing in general has declined over the past 8 years? Both actually. Yes, her singing in general has declined, she has lost the voice that she used to have, and I have heard several others I know say that as well. She is no where near the singer she used to be, which is another big reason her albums flop now. Who wants to listen to this? Since Julia seems to like saloon singers and thinks she is in that genre now, I guess that may suit her as most of the crowd would be too drunk to realize how bad it is. Can't even sell out the 147 seat supper club while singing with the club owner. Sad.

Jackie's beautiful classical voice was so much better than this mediocre pop voice that there is no comparison. Back when someone else was choosing the songs she'd sing the songs were so much better. Ombra Mai Fu or Burn? I mean, really?

Thanks for the response. For me, I don't hear a significant difference. I might if I listened very carefully but there is no reason for me to do so. It’s just something I’ve noticed ever since her second album. It's like the difference between a grand piano and an upright piano that even a cell phone mic can capture. Dream With Me was a miniature grand piano. She throttled down after that. Not saying her voice hasn’t been pretty all these years, but there is fire in her voice on certain Debut songs that I haven’t heard since DWM. I think the throttling that you describe is the result of both a psychological and an artistic shift that occurred as she matured. I believe that, as is common during adolescence, she became more reserved in personality, which inhibits powerful emotional expression. And in tune (pun intended;) with this personality change was a redirecting of her voice development from emotive power to refined elegant beauty. And that is well suited for CC songs. But it doesn't work well for musicals or pop, so she has worked to put the power back in her voice for those songs.

Voice, song choice, stage mannerisms, style of wardrobe... all those things are debatable.
However, what I find inescapably noticeable and inarguably ironic is the person recording and posting the Feinstein's videos. The same person also posted videos when she performed there earlier this year. None other than Joe, perhaps more familiar to some as "Airport Joe", a nickname given as a result of numerous "random" encounters with Jackie and her mother (back when Lisa was the one traveling with Jackie), at airports and hotel lobbies. Lisa was alarmed by his behavior, to the point that Joe was informed that he was a "persona non grata" - not welcome at Jackie's events. After which Joe went on a tirade of posting on Jackie's social media with the most offensive statements the likes of which the fans had never seen, a campaign of hatred that went on relentlessly for many months, possibly years. Eventually, Joe must have had some sort of epiphany, because he changed course and began a campaign of profusely apologizing - to Jackie, her family, her fans. He probably even apologized to his dog.
Now he sits stage-side at Jackie's feet at the very intimate Feinstein's dinner club. If Lisa ever had concerns that the front row was trying to sneak peeks up Jackie's dress... well, it's a whole different ballgame now (pun intended - Joe is a baseball fan, too). Once a perceived threat and scourge, banished from the Land of Butterflys and Rainbows. Now he sits at Jackie's feet, even getting his photo taken with Jackie after the shows.
I guess it just illustrates that since the money's tight, the Evanchos have relaxed their standards and will let just about anybody sidle up alongside Jackie, as long as they've got a ticket. Where do some of those guys put their hands when they're standing close to Jackie for the camera - squeeze and say cheese - LOL!!

"If Lisa ever had concerns that the front row was trying to sneak peeks up Jackie's dress... well, it's a whole different ballgame now"But to be fair, with the dresses she is wearing now, she is pretty much inviting sneak peeks, in fact no sneakiness required. "Where do some of those guys put their hands when they're standing close to Jackie for the camera - squeeze and say cheese - LOL!!"Hey, as long as they're forking over the cash, maybe no one cares, especially now with the concerts drying up and albums flopping...yesterday's Meet and Greet, today's Pinch and Greet!

The problem is that Socalfan only hates Maddie Ziegler. He implemented a Draconian rule a few months back that limited all posts about her, which resulted in the loss of some top posters here as well as one of the most popular threads here, which moved over to the Amazon forum that Rick created. But he is fine with people abusing this thread and posting about anyone else, such as Grace Vanderwaal or Emily Bear. Why? Because he is a hypocritical dick, that's why. Doesn't say much about yourself Dizzy, you're more then happy to post on a dicks forum, oh wait a minute that's right, you're into big dicks. LOL! 💩 Not again. Seems like every time I come here, you're talking about big dicks again. You seem to be the one who's "into" that subject. You always trying to bring up the big dicks.

It may be that Team E realized that Lisa overreacted when Jackie was a child. Now that Jackie is an adult and Airport Joe has apologized, they no longer feel the need to be so cautious. Airport Joe is certainly OTT but not necessarily dangerous.

I'm not trying to say that you said that I said he is or was dangerous (you didn't), I'm just clarifying (or trying to). What age was Jackie when Joe went on his rampage? Does anybody know?

Airport Joes attacks were mostly against Lisa and Jacob(Juliet) before his full transformation. He called Lisa a c~t and Jacob some really vulgar things also.

Jackie needs to decide what direction she wants to go please what is left of her OTT fans and dress like a little girl or dress like she wants. Lisa showed what Jackie actually wears on the beach but she dare not put it on her own site. My tastes are a little more conservative than this (although an earlier outfit with fabric that looked almost like hammered metal split to just above the navel was impressive if a bit distracting when it takes effort to keep eyes on the face which in performance is more informative)...but that doesn't mean I have a problem with it, as long as there continues to be ample use of mesh or double-sided tape to make it less accident prone than it's made to appear. :-) A lot depends on context: a bikini at the beach is fine, but for other contexts might be inappropriate; and the attire for a small sophisticated lounge would be different from that for a traditional concert hall...at least for an audience not exclusively composed of folks in their late teens and early 20's (many of which haven't yet found balance between sensationalism and nuance - IMO PG-13 horror movies are usually better written, acted, and directed than the R rated ones, as an example of what I mean; they have to be to succeed, since there are limits on skin and graphic violence, so they have to have other strengths).
