You make money by doing concerts, the purpose of making new music is so the singer has new music š¼ to sing at future concerts! That's only true for legitimate singers. Not parrots with a circus act long after the circus left town.

You make money by doing concerts, the purpose of making new music is so the singer has new music š¼ to sing at future concerts! Don't believe a word msims says there is a lot of money in streaming rights. Justin Bieber sold his entire music catalog for $200 million. Bruce Springsteen sold his masters and publishing rights for a reported $500 million. Bob Dylan sold his catalog for a reported $300 million. The company that buys these rights from the artist figures they will make their money back from streaming their old songs for years to come. Take Grace Vanderwaal she made a Christmas song that about doubles her monthly streaming around every Christmas time. I find it a little strange that if Jackie's Christmas songs were so great than why doesn't her monthly streaming listeners go up around Christmas.

Not parrots with a circus act long after the circus left town. i think Jackie probably made decent money at her April TX concert, and last year's Ocean City and Xmas concerts, based on the number of seats sold at those events. And she did a private concert in FL last year where she might have done pretty well also. Granted, she doesn't do a lot of concerts these days, but seems she can still earn a living at it to some degree. She wont make much at her 54 Below Shows, but that's okay as there are no travel expenses and I think the idea of performing in such a low capacity venue is to showcase/try out her new songs in front of a live audience. It's all good, as msims assures us that Jackie's lack of concerts last year and this year are due to her being busy writing new songs.

Just what does Disappointed have to say to have her post removed?

Just what does Disappointed have to say to have her post removed? I think, once again Coltman, your comments were removed because your posts were focusedf entirely on talking about Disappointed, not Jackie. If you disagree with Disappointed about comments she made about Jackie, it's okay to call her out on it, but then explain why what she said is nonsense. This isn't a forum about Disappointed. It's a forum about Jackie and to a lesser degree, other singers and how they compare to Jackie and her career. Wrong way examples (focused on Disappointed only):"Disappointed is always attacking Jackie." "Disappointed loves to hate Jackie" Correct way example (calling out Disappointed, but then explaining why she's wrong):"Disappointed is always unfairly attacking Jackie. Jackie is in fact an awesome singer who had a great career and is doing her best to re-invent herself. Her new Solla album is terrific and it will just take time to earn a new fan base" or "Disappointed love to hate Jackie. I think it's become a hobby of hers. Jackie is in fact an awesome singer who had a great career and is doing her best to re-invent herself. Her new Solla album is terrific and it will just take time to earn a new fan base"

Just what does Disappointed have to say to have her post removed? She has to post disparaging off-topic material.

I get it, we all had extremely high hopes for Jackie to be singing to sell out stadiums and arenas to thousands of adoring fans but unfortunately sheās been relegated to singing in dive bars. š

Singing in stadiums and arenas was never realistic. But 54 Below is hardly a dive bar. Jackie can make a very decent living as a cabaret singer and that is one of the more likely scenarios for her future.

Hey everyone, I'm scouting for venues and I think I found a good one. They're very excited to host any act that can draw more than three people. See you there!

Just to clarify the confusion on the status of chart positions and gold and platnum records, the two are determined differently.
The Billboard charts started using Soundcan in 1991 and so were determined by sales in retail outlets prior to streaming. The RIAA gold and platinum records use wholesale totals of albums whose return windows have expired. This is why there is often a delay of months before cerrification occurs.
Given Jackie's chart positions were in line with platinum status, you have it measured by two different yardsticks and each verifies the other. Thus, accusations of some funny business going on is remote.

Jackie can make a very decent living as a cabaret singer and that is one of the more likely scenarios for her future. Highly unlikely. Those types of singers are go getters and perform multiple times a week. Performing a few times a year or even once a month is not going to amount to much. Jackie does not have the drive or work ethic for that life. She has had everything handed to her with little effort and expects the same in the future.

Nobody knows how hard Jackie works now, yes I know what she said when she was a teenager that she didnāt practice very much! I guess thatās going to be used against her for as long as she is singing for a living! I think itās more of a case of bad management is the reason for her current problems! Parents donāt know anything about show-business and made poor decisions in Jackieās career !

Time to stop putting all the blame on her last management team and start putting it where it now belongs. Jackie is responsible for whatever happens with her career now.
