A "gorgeous" voice apparently isn't enough to overcome her downward trend. I personally don't find her voice to be gorgeous, but it doesn't matter because when I think about the music I listen to the most, ensemble wins over voice. What a group of musicians can do with good writing and music production can't be beat by just any singer standing next to a piano. Lady Gaga and a piano maybe. Jackie singing "Over the Rainbow" and "How Great Thou Art" not so much. I personally think the damage to Jackie's career is a done deal, and there will be no comeback. That said, I had high hopes for Solla because it's a GROUP. If Jackie had put together a band for the 54 Below show it might have drawn more people. I would have paid to watch the stream because that's what I've been waiting for her to do. What the hell is she doing? What was the point of doing a career retrospective instead of performing her new album? A pattern is emerging where Jackie releases an album and then throws it away. The Debut, the Joni thing, and now Solla (except token songs with no band). Right back to doing her banal, tired, generic, uninteresting, unremarkable CC lineup in the guise of a cabaret show. Let's hope that this is just a one-off, because the fans who wandered off because they weren't interested in her CC stuff anymore are not going to come rushing back to watch her do more of the same. An EP isn't nearly enough for an event. She did two out of five tracks, one being the most promoted track. That and some of the other later material is enough to introduce a change of direction without kicking everyone to the curb that came for the old direction (most, at this time). Jackie's CC lineup is the only thing that draws fans. She has no fanbase established who want to pay to hear her new music, nor is there nearly enough new material to fill a whole show. Most of her older fan base wont be rushing back to her new alt-pop stuff either. lol

Someone else who saw the show on livestream on Friday said this about what Jackie said. I had forgotten...kind of funny. "I was amused by her introduction to Ave Maria stating critics said she would ruin her voice singing classical songs as a child, and that made her angry......"So, I recorded Ave Maria, and that shut them up"."The thread is literally called "General Discussion." Go make some waffles, Donkey.

What the heck does Juliet have to do with Jackie’s performances the last two nights? Geez! Jackie billed her performances as "My Story". Surely you are not going to try to pretend that Juliet's story is not an integral part of Jackie's story. Trying to rewrite history is not an attractive look. It's dishonest. Then again, Jackie's "Year of Truth" was anything but.

Not enough for her to mention her once in the entire show. lol Did she mention Lisa? The only family she mentioned was her dad, early on in the show. She said hi, or thanked him, or something like that...don't remember. lol

I believe Lisa did the right thing. Juliet had been unhappy all her life because she felt like a girl and did girl things but had the body of a boy. Lisa told her she might be transgender and that changed her life for the better. "The suicide attempt rate among transgender persons ranges from 32% to 50% across the countries. Gender-based victimization, discrimination, bullying, violence, being rejected by the family, friends, and community; harassment by intimate partner, family members, police and public; discrimination and ill treatment at health-care system are the major risk factors that influence the suicidal behavior among transgender persons."
www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5178031/Does Lisa's approach always work? Of course not. But I believe it gave Juliet a much better chance of not ending up as yet another sad statistic. Jacob would have figured it out on his own, either he was a tranny or just gay, and obviously, at that point, he hadn't done that. You don't encourage a child to mutilate his body. Seems Lisa saw the Jacob to Juliet show as another meal ticket
