Do we know what that name is? I don't know Lisa's maiden name. Alternatively, Jackie could use her middle name as her last name and call herself Jackie Marie.

BOGC, sounds like autotune (the processing) which is found on pretty much all the pop music. Cant imagine how they could sing in concert but wouldnt want to hear it or the clips.

Again, I'm not trolling (a tiresome accusation). Nor am I suggesting that Jackie become completely anonymous like some self-administered witness protection program. I'm not negating the value of her career. Suggestions are just that, suggestions. Nothing is cut in stone. There's no need to be threatened by ideas or lash out at people for having them. In forums its all about credibility which is up to you if you are going to change guest accounts daily then it also depends on intent. Ive asked for the guest system to be removed due to abuse, someone could slip through the cracks without negative intent in theory. But the guests have no credibility due to this. Registered accounts are also trolls, and what I mean by trolling is to further/defend/enable a negative agenda that is meant to sew doubts or fear as well as through manipulation and revising/gaslighting the history of/about Jackie's career and/or legacy as a successful recording and touring artist.A Fleetwood Mac type of supergroup (you didn't seem to respond to that part which to me indicates a lack of seriousness or urgency with your suggestion) where its other stars along with her, not touring in a van either and its not a pop diva type of group. If its like a Celtic Woman type thing where its produced already and she can already just add her CC voice to what is already working, then thats fine but to be completely anonymous I don't know what the point is. If they have traction then it will come out, then it will be seen as some kind of trick or manipulation or really could go backwards and it not help Jackie with future projects. Stay the course is I think the only way to go.

You are correct in it being autotuned or undergoing some mix of manipulation techniques. It is better done than most since the Swedish school of pop production (Rae used Swedish producers) have been experts at massaging vocals going back to the days of ABBA. The vocals were processed and layered and the ranges of instruments and vocals get compressed to make individual layers in the mix difficult to pinpoint. As for singing live, she would probably be lip synching or singing over a backing track with her actual voice lost in the mix. By the way, if anyone thinks this woman actually contributed to writing those songs, they are delusional. I think it possible she was in the room occasionally saying "Yeah, that sounds cool" and leave it there. Her contribution to her hit "Diet Pepsi" probably consisted of her drinking one in the studio.

She is now an alternative artist with a smaller startup label. Since your post touched on mainstream. Some think it was Pavarotti. But arguably Brightman made CC mainstream (she helped to make Bocelli) she and Groban too didn't want to be put into a box/defined by the CC label, certainly not to be controlled by a label, with success comes creative control. The theme in this forum rather than have the common sense to say it was a LABEL that made Jackie sing what she had to sing on albums. Rickky and others believe it was her Parents which is why I reference my time at amazon when Lisa was here, as they clearly had not much control other than saying no. You minimized her deal with MP, although they signed a number of artists after Jackie. With that deal if anyone attended the zoom call but apparently not it would have been clear she now has full creative control and with control means she could record the kind of music that Jackie has said shes been listening to for quite sometime. Its still important to not to put her in a box. Jackie is not limited vocally, she can actually sing multiple genres, pop, classical, folk, alternative. Any real artist should be able to have the control and if anything thats a theme in her original material.

Any real artist should be able to have the control and if anything thats a theme in her original material. I didn't minimize her deal with MP. I like the arrangement she has with them. You are correct in that labels do push you in directions you may not want to go. As for whether it was the label or her parents, the answer is both. I don't think Jackie picked CC as a little girl but, for whatever reason, she ended up tbere. It could be someone sold Lisa on the idea (David Foster?) but that's where she ended up. Of course, once she had success, the label wanted to keep her there. So originals were out. This is a different situation from someone who comes in as a singer/songwriter. There the pressure is different: Rather than being pressured with pre-selected songs, they may pressure you to write songs in a formulaic way. I honestly doubted claims Jackie had written songs because she never gave real evidence of writing apart from those with professional songwriters. After she supplied such evidence, I did an about face on that matter: she probably had written songs all along but she had been placed in a box that did not include songwriting. I voiced my opinion that she needed to work with someone consistently for a year or two and she seems to have found that with Greg Camp. Now that she is getting to learn production from the ground up, she will be better prepared to try new things. The weird thing about "alternative" as a genre is that it is a catch-all allowing in other genres' influences so long as it is not form over substance. The idea is to make something that is meets some nebulous idea of "authenticity." Granted that it sometimes produces pretentious bullsh!t but even then it's not like everything else.

Only MSIMS can project intent without proof, make accusations of trolling, mischaracterize, cherry pick, and attempt to discredit, BUT THEN... go on to actually participate in the exchange of ideas. You added your own suggestion, which was all that was necessary. Why do so many of your posts include a pulled-out-of-your-hiney assessment of someone else's character and motives? You also harp on endlessly about how this forum is not being run the way you think it should be run. Such constant negativity is the only trollish behavior I've seen in the thread.

Prior to going into singing, Addison Rae had built a Tik Tok following of 80 million+ and a massive Instagram following. She had make-up brands along with other endorsements. Her first single did ok but her vocal limitations showed. She then went out and hired top flight producers from the ABBA/Max Martin school of candy pop. Her voice sounds much different thanks to modern technology but it is not as obvious since their approach is to hide it in a Phil Spector-ish "wall of sound." The result is perfect pop hits that sound like almost everything else on the radio. That's fine since she is less an artist than a product - but to her credit, she knows it and owns it. Commercially, there is no way Jackie could compete with that juggernaut. Addison has her role all figured out and it embraced it. Jackie is aiming at a smaller demographic that, apart from the occasional outlier (e.g., Billie Eilish), tops in popularity at the Lana Del Ray level. Agreed. As I have long asserted, as long as one has an acceptable voice, voice is not particularly important for success in popular music (pop, rock, country, rap, etc). Stars of popular music have voices that range from barely acceptable (like Bob Dylan) to great (like Whitney Houston). Much more important are charisma and songwriting. Addison Rae is proof that great charisma can compensate for songwriting. "Jackie is aiming at a smaller demographic"She once aimed at an empire. Now she's aiming at 3rd billing in 250 person venues. Regardless of what one aims at, reality is still reality.

Nothing wrong with what Jackie is doing, I am not going to attack her because she once had big dreams in what she wanted to achieve! She has had over a decade in something she likes to do , being on stage performing!

Some think it was Pavarotti. But arguably Brightman made CC mainstream (she helped to make Bocelli) I believe it was the 3 Tenors that made CC mainstream: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Three_TenorsThe trio began their collaboration with a performance at the ancient Baths of Caracalla in Rome, Italy, on 7 July 1990, the eve of the 1990 FIFA World Cup final, watched by a global television audience of around 800 million.[2] The image of three tenors in formal evening dress singing in a World Cup concert captivated the global audience.[3] The recording of this debut concert became the best-selling classical album of all time[4] and led to additional performances and live albums. They performed to a global television audience at three further World Cup Finals: 1994 in Los Angeles, 1998 in Paris, and 2002 in Yokohama.[3] They also toured other cities around the world, usually performing in stadiums or similar large arenas to huge audiences.Brightman was a musical theater performer and did not begin her CC career until 1992. Same year as Bocelli.

Can we even get a full concert of Jackie from someones smart phone even. There were three PBS specials, of which the third they probably did more themselves, since the support they could get from Sony or PBS was declining (as interest was). I was there when that last one was recorded. There are occasional videos of individual songs. Not fancy or expensive, but not amateur either. Some like Safe and Sound were creative using fairly modest resources. Even a low end professional full concert video might be $10k or more, esp. since the venue and everyone else will want a cut too. That leaves very little after everyone else gets their bit. Do you REALLY want to sit next to someone using a phone to record an entire concert? It's distracting; and I don't, and I can't think of many people, not even in their 20s-30s, that would.
