Exactly right. But Richard is blind to anything but popularity and is unable to entertain the thought that popularity and talent are not the same thing. The endless denigration of very talented but less popular entertainers gets irritating. Actually it is the other way around it is you and several others that have been claiming popularity is a sign of non talent. Emily Bear is very good but how would she actually do in a contest against the 100's of other prodigy piano players. I showed Simone Biles as one of Maddie's popular friends she is popular because she is talented and I would put her up against any gymnast Jackie's OTTs bring up that aren't popular. Many of Jackie's fans say she is the greatest of all times but they can not bring up one tangible thing to prove it. |

In terms of composing, her musical composition skills are superb. I am not convinced her abilities as a lyricist are at the level of some others we have discussed, but, as a complete package, I stated earlier that she is the only girl we had discussed who has more musical chops than either Billie or Grace and I stand by that statement. None of this means she will be successful ... I don't think it is possible to compare Emily (a composer-pianist) with Billie or Grace (both singer-songwriters). In general, it would be very rare for composer-pianists to achieve the popularity of singer-songwriters regardless of the level of talent. Emily is a good pianist but an exceptional composer so I expect that her success will be in composing, not performing. She may be another John Williams. |

ON another note Jackie was live on instagram 4 hr ago doing her concert. You have to have the instagram app to see it though. It will only be up for so long unless someone catches it and downloads it to another format.
Probably Jackie let someone use her smart phone to record it as you can see the comments scrolling across the screen and her name at the top of the screen. A step forward from what we are used to, the quality seems to be better than what we get from Mike also.
Not sure if the guy Jackie is singing with will want her back she made him sound like an amateur.
She was clearly out of his league.

popularity and talent are not the same thing. True indeed. Popularity is objective, talent is subjective. There is general consensus on metrics of popularity. There is none on talent. "Popularity is objective" That is true short term as there is a herd mentality where everyone wants to jump on the bandwagon of the current big thing. That explains how Jackie rode the AGT wave and had big album sales for a while. Then most people who jumped on that bandwagon realized she wasn't so great after all and jumped off. But there are those stars with long term popularity who can hold their fan base due to talent, work ethic, likability, fan connection, etc. Jackie just isn't in their league and never will be. |

Most singers have better voices than Springsteen or Dylan; but not many singers are as good songwriters as either of those two. Now, if you think one must be a singer/songwriter and not just one or the other, that may affect how you rank performers. If OTOH, your first priority is a single aspect (like voice), your ranking will be very different. I think there would be more consensus* ranking a single attribute than a group of attributes. * not that majorities are worth anything except $$ in large numbers; the majority of people are barely above average or below, so anyone that aspires to be more should only pay attention to them if they wish to profit from them |

Jackie has no songwriting ability at all. The 4 songs she co-wrote with her 2 buddies are mediocre at best. I can't stand to listen to them. I don't even remember their names. Oh, wait. The worst of the bunch is called Pedestal.
Jackie has chosen to throw away her beautiful classical voice in favor of a mediocre, just like everyone else, pop voice. She shows complete disdain for her fans. She will never be popular.
Jackie has no sense when it comes to business decisions such as what kind of album she will make, what songs she will sing, or wasting money making a video for a song that was on her last total failure album. She is still singing these songs in concert which makes no sense at all. |

I'm not quire sure what Emily singing a song written before she was born has to do with demonstrating her songwriting ability. She made quite clear in her description that this is an old song she rearranged. As far as being a pop singer/songwriter rather than a classical or jazz composer, I am only aware of two songs: "Dancin" and "I'm Not Alone." Both are good but not great songs and neither puts her at "another level" or even at the same level as a pop songwriter with Billie or Grace. Given her musical chops, I think she is capable of great songwriting, but until such work is produced, it remains in the realm of potential. The only obstacle that may get in her way is whether her potential as a lyricist matches her potential at the musical end of songwriting. But the statement that she is already as a completely different level as a singer/songwriter based on two decent songs is hyperbole of the most extreme variety. |

The Beach Man loses another friend, shocking. 😮 It appears he became irritated rather quickly. Could be he had sand stuck in his shorts. If truth be told mates , i have too many friends , need no more on line , on twitter 3nd time , i deleted all followers & who i followed 2 times , to begin anew , i follow NO one , i want no followers as any one can tweet me if they want , , i roam and pick to tweet as there are millions to pick from , i had to stop DMs also , too many broken hearts and sad people , i could not help all so i closed my DM section  yes i am a beach  bum and yes had some sand stuck in me shorts at times , i do not attack any one first but if one does then it is on ,  i will no longer reply to any non registered / non member posting just so not to begin with  , i do that in Private section of forum . i received about 300,000 views on all kinds of subject at CC-UK forum so there are people that view me , any one is invited to visit , some like , some hate , some neutral . Be careful as i do know many witches that do place spells on thee silly flats heads  ..    , what do you do for a forum ?  Ps if i see a post i deed is right on target not matter my thoughts on the poster i will give a like . |

I have better things to do then checking on young people , i gave that up years ago , who is jojo , who is Millie , i saw grace one time , i don't care of these gals except the few from years ago i know , please ! people write books for people , duh , Emily Bear is a real author and high IQ , ""smart enough "" , please ! most artists have PR Dept and Career Dept , some of these gals are dumb as average , adults are behind the show-biz family , former Miss House has a high IQ , those two would put all the rest to shame .the real successful artists have very good people behind them , out of sight . Book it .my time is up here , life to live >>>>>>>>>>>>>. If you don't know who Millie Bobby Brown is or JoJo Siwa then you have no business trying to compare the ones you mentioned to today's top young celebrities. Like saying you are an expert in music but never heard of Taylor Swift.

telling me i have no business is not your business , this is a fee forum to think as one likes with no know one telling other members what they should or not to do , first being from Pittsburgh i saw Maddie go to the top on show the few times i saw it , i did not go directly to the show but while on passing it at times i would watch some of it , i saw her dance and heard her speak, saw her mind set , her personality before she left the show , i did not follow her at any time but i could see she could have a very good future , my comments on other girls you list i only know from others posting here , i don't do much of following people of show-biz except what i may see here or on twitter , don't have time , i did follow about 20 young artist years ago and promoted them on twitter and had connections with them on their products but i connect with few today , they all are busy with life and need me not . i do tweet a few for old times talk , i listed them on CC-UK forum years ago . i don't buy albums , not Swift nor any big star , i hear some music on radio now or then but i am not really a music person and no expert on singers , i do enjoy colorful personalities .Thanks for the reply and time .  |

It is really ridiculous people on here talk about talent about contestants on these "Got Talent Shows" Shows like Agt and the rest are not about talent they are 100% popularity contest. Many times the public doesn't judge contestants by their talent but other factors such as cuteness and who has the saddest story to tell. Even the judges what credentials do they have to judge anything.
